My Halloween Things to Read and Watch

Here are some of my favorite things to read (and watch) around Halloween!

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley- I try to read at least part of it each Halloween. This is probably my favorite horror novel. It's haunting and beautiful.

Dracula by Bram Stoker- This one is obvious. The original cool vampire novel.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving- I've enjoyed this since I was young. It's not super long and it's awesomely spooky.  Also Sleepy Hollow by Tim Burton. It's a good adaptation and I'm a big Johnny Depp fan.

Hawkeye vs. Deadpool by Gerry Duggan- This comic is ridiculous and awesome. Hawkeye is my favorite superhero, and I love Deadpool so it's fun to see the two forced to work together. The comic is set on Halloween.

Shaun of the Dead- My favorite zombie movie ever. A classic.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown- This is my childhood. No Halloween is complete without watching it.

"Secret Window, Secret Garden" by Stephen King and Secret Window (starring Johnny Depp)- I'm not a huge Stephen King fan, but I really love this novella. And the movie is really awesome.

Sweeney Todd- There's a trend here. Creepy Johnny Depp movies. But this musical is really awesome.

The Nightmare Before Christmas- Obviously.

Penny Dreadful- I loved this series and am still heartbroken it was cancelled. It's the perfect horror TV series incorporating classics like Frankenstein, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Dracula. Also werewolves and witches.

These are just a few of my favorites. There's obviously tons of awesome Halloween books, shows, and movies. Feel free to comment with your favorites!
