Book Beginnings on Fri: A Dance With Dragons
A Weekly Meme hosted by Rose City Reader:
"Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name"
This week is A Dance With Dragons by George RR Martin:
"He drank his way across the narrow sea" (pg. 18).
This first chapter is from the POV of Tyrion. I feel like this describes him very well and is a great start to his journey. I don't even need to add the next sentences. That sums it up.
